Truck Driver And Escort Heavy Vehicle Driver Dead In Heavy Machinery Miri Accident
Two lives were lost in a tragic incident at the Miri Bypass Road traffic light intersection around 4.20pm yesterday evening, after a large trailer carrying heavy machinery rammed into the rear of a vehicle, causing the driver and his security to be severely trapped.
According to the Spokesperson of the Sarawak Operation Movement Center, teams from the Fire and Rescue Station Lopeng rushed to the location immediately after receiving an emergency call.

Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found the trailer in question still carrying a load of heavy machinery on it and there were two victims trapped in the driver’s and front passenger seats.
“Investigation found two victims still trapped in the trailer,” the spokesman said.
Firefighters then opened the driver’s door to make room for MOH officers to carry out the rescue. Unfortunately, both victims were confirmed dead at the scene by the officers.
Meanwhile, after a short time waiting for the assistance of a crane to lift the heavy vehicles, the firefighters continued their task in removing the remaining casualties who were trapped. Now hospitalised and stable.
