The Volvo EX60 Cross Country is all-electric and looks ready to tackle the outdoors.
The legend of the Cross Country has officially gone electric. Alongside the global debut of the all-electric EX60, Volvo Cars has unveiled the Volvo EX60 Cross Country—a rugged, adventurous “flavour” of its new mid-size SUV that brings a nearly 30-year heritage of exploration into the EV era.
Designed for those with a “go anywhere” attitude, the EX60 Cross Country combines the class-leading range and high-end technology of the standard EX60 with the robust capability and expressive design that defined the segment when Volvo pioneered it in 1997.
Adventure-Ready Design
The EX60 Cross Country makes its presence known through a series of exclusive design details inspired by Scandinavian nature. It debuts in a unique Frost Green paint, a colour exclusive to this variant that reflects the brand’s Nordic roots.
To emphasize its “built to do more” philosophy, the car features:
- Rugged Protection: Brushed stainless steel skid plates at the front and rear, complemented by wider, rugged wheel arches.
- Exclusive Stance: Special Cross Country-only wheels that enhance its off-road aesthetic.
- Signature Branding: Distinctive Cross Country lettering integrated into the bumpers and the D-pillar.
Elevated Performance and Visibility
One of the most appreciated traits of the Cross Country line is the commanding driving position. The EX60 already offers a high seating point, but the Cross Country variant takes it further, sitting 20 millimetres higher off the ground than the standard model.
For even more versatility, the adaptive air suspension allows drivers to increase the ride height by an additional 20 millimetres when tackling uneven terrain. Conversely, the system can lower the car at high speeds to optimize aerodynamics, stability, and battery efficiency—perfect for long highway stretches.
Powertrains and Range
Despite its rugged exterior, the EX60 Cross Country remains a high-performance EV at its core. It will be available exclusively with all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrains to ensure maximum traction in all weather conditions:
- P10 AWD Electric: The first variant to become available, offering a practical range of up to 640 km.
- P12 AWD Electric: A long-range variant that will join the lineup shortly after launch.
Pre-orders for the Volvo EX60 Cross Country have already opened in several European markets, with a global rollout, including more international markets, expected later this year.
