JPJ Kelantan Denies Cause of Fatal Accident, “No Action of Chasing Lorry, Vehicles Are Conducting Official Patrolling”
The Road Transport Department (JPJ) of Kelantan is giving an explanation regarding the accident incident at KM 85.5 Kota Bharu-Machang-Jeli Road (Kampung Rahmat, Bukit Bunga) that killed a 25 year old young man, yesterday. Below is their statement.

Kelantan JPJ Director, Mohd Misuari Abdullah, asserted that the allegations stating the department’s vehicles were chasing a lorry until causing an accident are untrue and baseless at all.
According to the official statement of the department, the Toyota Fortuner vehicle belonging to JPJ was performing routine patrolling duty in conjunction with Ops Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026 when the incident happened around 4.30 pm.

“The allegations stating the crash was caused by JPJ chasing the lorry as were conveyed in the 34-second video which is circulating on social media are not true.
Members are involved in following standard operating procedures (SOP) as well as traffic rules set throughout the performance of duty,” Mohd Misuari clarified today.
Investigation found that the accident happened when the Perodua Myvi car that was driven by the victim from Ipoh direction to Rantau Panjang is believed to have crashed and entered the opposite right lane then hitting the right side of JPJ’s Toyota Fortuner coming from the opposite direction.
Kelantan JPJ office is asking the public to respect the privacy of the victim’s family and not spread unauthorized information that could disrupt the police investigation.
