Under the theme “Change of Perspectives,” smart has officially entered a new chapter in its brand evolution at a global brand event in Beijing. The contemporary premium EV brand showcased the strategic growth of its product portfolio, expanding from three to five models this year with the global debut of the smart Concept #2 and the world premiere of the smart #6 EHD.
Unconventional Design: The smart Concept #2
The smart Concept #2 represents the first physical expression of the highly anticipated all-electric smart #2, designed to reinvent the iconic two-seater city car. Styled by the Mercedes-Benz Global Design Team, the concept follows a “Function becomes Fashion” lens, elevating the vehicle beyond mere utility.
- Compact Agility: Maximizing interior space within a total length of just 2.79 metres, the Concept #2 features a signature “wheels-at-the-corners” setup. It offers unmatched urban maneuverability with a tight 6.95-metre turning diameter.
- Next-Gen Performance: Engineered on smart’s all-new Electric Compact Architecture (ECA), the model envisions a range of nearly 300 kilometres.
- Fast Charging: The system supports DC fast charging, capable of powering the battery from 10% to 80% in under 20 minutes.
- V2L Capability: Innovative Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology ensures drivers can stay charged on the go.
The production version of the smart #2 is scheduled for its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026.

After breaking the mould with the #5, the smart #6 EHD combines executive-level luxury with advanced Electric Hybrid Drive (EHD) technology.
- Record-Breaking Efficiency: The #6 EHD delivers a massive 1,810 km range (CLTC) with fuel consumption as low as 3.9L/100km.
- Aerodynamic Design: Inspired by a shark, the sleek silhouette achieves a best-in-class 86% space efficiency, surprising users with generous headroom and a 525-litre trunk.
- Interior Technology: The premium cabin is anchored by dual 13-inch OLED displays integrated into a clean, horizontal dashboard.
- German Driving Dynamics: Tuned by Mercedes-Benz experts, the sedan features a 4-stage active rear spoiler and ZF steering for an authentic driving experience.
- Uncompromising Safety: The structure utilizes over 85% high-strength materials and a bespoke “ring-shaped tripod” cage body.
