Why are the above mentioned automotive brands NOT participating in KLIMS 2026 and please note that most of them also DID NOT participate in the previous KLIMS which was in 2024.
Meanwhile, in other regional auto shows like the Singapore and Bangkok Motor Shows, you have these brands (most of them) participating and showing some rather interesting models and even concept vehicles.
Then you have new product launches at these Motor Shows and this is where we question what is happening in the Malaysian automotive market.

Just a few days ago Ital Auto unveiled the all new Ferrari Testarossa in KL city center, then a week earlier BYD unveiled their latest Atto3 and Ford uncovered the new Everest SUV. Suzuki also showed their Fronk Sports edition and GAC had their facelift EMZOOM shown to the media.
Why didn’t these above new models be launched and shown at KLIMS 2026?
What is the reasons for avoiding KLIMS 2026 where we have almost 200 media from various platforms attending and eager to do FREE coverage and content.
We have 28 auto brands avoiding KLIMS 2026 and just a fraction actually being part of KLIMS 2026.
Strange …… right?

Meanwhile, my first Motor Show visit was when I was a student in England and I visited the Earls Court Motor Show in London. It was very memorable with dozens of supercars and new models not yet on British roads on display.
This is what Motor Shows has been for me since then and not an auto show where we see what is already on our roads and car parks.
Auto Shows are all about exotic machines, brand new machines and concept cars that will one day be seen on our roads. The ‘dream car’ is what visitors to an Auto Show want to see and this is why they pay for an admission ticket.
Interesting that WE seem to be the only media in Malaysia highlighting this …… the fact that there are many automotive brands NOT participating in KLIMS. Wonder why the rest are quiet.
