ASIAN AUTO – VCA GIVES OUT 18 AWARDS TO RECOGNISE INDUSTRY’S BEST

12th JULY 2010 – 18 awards were given out to recognise the best in Malaysian automotive industry for 2010. It was a proud moment for the winners of the ASIAN AUTO – VCA Auto Awards 2010. The event was attended by more than 120 representatives from 33 car companies vying for the 18 awards up for grabs. The annual awards, which started in 2008 is the biggest automotive industry awards in Malaysia. The Asian Auto – VCA Auto Industry awards mostly focus on real value propositions of each vehicle category and the true intrinsic value of each vehicle judged, which complements the various categories available in the local price sensitive motoring market.

Welcoming the guests and media, Chief Editor of Asian Auto, Daniel Fernandez said, “This year’s judging has been an interesting experience as I am pleased to note that some formerly quiet and less popular brands had come forward with exciting products for Malaysian consumers. These brands have taken strong steps to move their ‘game’ up with better built, better quality and increased driver dynamics to take higher sales positions.”

“This change has led us to believe that there is a need now for the previously dominant players to work more closely with their business partners in order to stay relevant in the competition. This is a positive scenario as Malaysian car consumers will then have better choices of more advanced automobiles.” Fernandez added.

For the 3rd consecutive year, VCA UK is continuing its support for the Asian Auto Awards as the title sponsor of the esteemed event. VCA (http://www.vca.gov.uk/) is the designated UK Vehicle Type Approval authority.
