Perodua honours 51 PYTP graduates

Perodua honoured 51 graduates for completing its Perodua 12th Youth Training Programme (PYTP) here, today. The programme is part of Perodua’s corporate social responsibility contribution in developing the country’s human capital resources.  Opened to SPM school leavers more inclined towards practical training rather than academic studies, Perodua has spent RM3 million since it was first initiated in 1999 and this programme has produced over 400 graduates. “This programme showcases Perodua’s earnest commitment in helping to develop a more knowledgeable workforce for Malaysia,” Perodua Managing Director Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said at the graduation ceremony here today.
The ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament for Hulu Selangor, YB En P. Kamalanathan, at Perodua’s Learning Centre, Sungai Choh here today. This yearly programme extends further education, in-depth training and choice job opportunities to aspiring candidates who enter the workforce with skills and knowledge that are highly sought-after. “This programme is our way of sharing our success with Malaysia and I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Malaysian public for making Perodua their number 1 automotive brand for five years running”, Aminar said.
Introduced in 1999, the PYTP offer courses ranging from Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Paint Sprayer to Automotive Engine Installer. Every year, Perodua allocates around RM300,000 for the programme and recruitment of choice candidates are sourced nationwide. The participants are given monthly and daily allowances, lodging, transportation and medical benefits during their six-month training programme.   The programme is based on 30% theory and 70% practical syllabus where trainees undergo dedicated training sessions conducted by a specialised team who are experts in their own respective fields.
The proud graduates who completed the six-month intensive training programme received the Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia 1 (SKM 1) certification and some are offered employment with Perodua as assistant mechanics, paint sprayer operators and engine assemblers.
