ROUND 4 RACE
Aylezo Motorsports, Organisor and Owner of the Lotus Super Cup Asia, wishes to formally apologise to our driver, Mr Tan Wei Ron, his family and friends, as well as his supporters who attended the event, for our unfortunate mistake that cost Mr Tan any chance of his 4th consecutive podium finish. The mistake was a time keeping one that resulted in the crew chief assigned to Mr Tan releasing him 1 second too early from the GT Asia mandatory pit stop.
The resulting drive through penalty not only cost Mr Tan his potential 4th consecutive victory but robbed the other competitors, as well as the spectators and fans, of the highly competitive duel being taken right down to the last yards of tarmac before the chequered flag. Mr Andrew Windebank, Sporting and Technical Director for Aylezo Motorsports, complimented Tan Wei Ron on his sportsmanship.
“Wei Ron was completely calm about this unfortunate situation and behaved in a most mature, sporting and professional way. This reflects well upon his abilities as a sportsman, a highly motivated and skilled competitor, and as a well rounded person. However, this situation should not have arisen in the first place and, as a professional Organisor, Aylezo Motorsports must take the blame for this, learn the lessons involved, and ensure that it is never repeated.” Commented Mr Windebank.
