Volkswagen introduces the facelift EOS with world’s first CSC glass roof
Volkswagen Group Malaysia has introduced the face-lifted EOS that would feature several innovations, including the world’s first CSC glass roof with an integrated tilt or slide sunroof. The car was introduced to the Malaysian market in conjunction with Time-Off Weekend that was held at all authorized Volkswagen showrooms and dealerships from July 16 to 17, 2011.
The new additions
The face-lifted EOS features the RNS510 Navigation system with TFT touch screen display with a 30-GB hard disk, a SD card reader and a DVD drive, 18-inch “Chicago” alloy wheels from Volkswagen Exclusive completed in 235/40 R18 self-sealing Mobility tyres, LED Direct Running Lights (DRL), and a Multi-function display “Premium” with multi-colour display.
A surge of confidence
Break free from traffic with a 2.0 litre turbo TSI® engine. The EOS provides an output of 155 kW (210 PS), more than enough to pull away from the others. Thanks to the innovative TSI technology, the engine also offers significant benefits in terms of reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Power delivery is made even better through a 6-speed direct shift gearbox DSG®, the world’s first dual-clutch automated manual gearbox in a production car.
A place to unwind
The new EOS is a full-fledged four-seater, which offers you and your passengers all the space you need. Thanks to the ‘Easy Entry’ function, getting into the rear is now made easier. The front seats are adjustable with just a touch of a button. With this feature, the front seats glide gracefully forwards. And when it moves back again, the driver’s seat is automatically returned to its initial position.
A breath of fresh air
Also at the push of a button, the EOS is transformed from a coupé into a cabriolet. Its CSC roof system combines the properties of a coupé, sliding roof and convertible top. The roof can be retracted in just 25 seconds. Operated via a switch on the centre console, it also has a windbreak that protects you against air turbulence at neck level. The CSC is a fully automatic innovative roof system built with optical glass and consists of five components: the large glass sliding/tilting sunroof, the rear roof section, two roof side members and the heated rear window with C-pillars. This unique construction provides the driver with the best of both worlds: an elegant coupé that is fully suitable for everyday use and a dynamic convertible.
A sense of wellbeing
Your safety takes top priority in the EOS. It comes with an active roll-over protection system that is always active. It also gives you a combined head and side airbag system, ESP and ABS as an optimum protection system. When needed, its supporting sections automatically shoot upwards by up to 265 millimetres in just 0.25 seconds to protect everyone on board. Additionally, the face-lifted EOS features cool leather ‘Nappa’ upholstery that enhances your seating comfort for a pleasurable drive.
Five-year warranty
Every Volkswagen comes with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty and three years extended warranty with unlimited mileage as well as a five-year Roadside Assistance program, thus, ensuring peace of mind when driving the EOS. The new EOS is priced at RM257,888 nett.
