BMW Group Malaysia Introduces the All New BMW 6 Series Coupé
BMW Group Malaysia yesterday introduced the all new BMW 6 Series Coupé, the most anticipated premium sports car in the country that sets a new benchmark in the luxury Coupé segment of the Malaysian automotive industry. In its looks, the new BMW vehicle shapes a new definition of premium sports cars with its beautiful and elegant design inspired by the movement of flowing water parted by an object. Moving to its interior, the stylish two-door automobile allows no compromises. The new BMW 6 Series Coupé presents the typical BMW driver orientation in a luxurious ambience featuring quality leather and stitching across the dashboard and console, providing a generous sense of space. The sports car does not just provide plenty of space for driver and front passenger; it also offers considerable comfort for the rear occupants. Additionally, with a capacity of 460 litres, the luggage compartment in the new BMW 6 Series Coupé can accommodate up to three golf bags!
In engines, the BMW 6 Series Coupé offers two variants with 8 speed sports automatic transmission as standard. The top of the line BMW 650i features a V8 engine with TwinPower Turbo technology of 300kW/407 hp. The Bi-VANOS 4.4 litre engine with two turbochargers and direct petrol injection is capable of registering a 0-100km/h mark of only 4.9 second whilst only consuming 10.5 litres per 100km of fuel and only emitting 245 grams per kilometre of Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
The second variant, BMW 640i Coupé meanwhile features an impressive 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine that produces outstanding 235kW/320hp that results in a new-effortless 0-100km/h time of 5.4 seconds. Whilst being able to achieve this impressive statistic, the new BMW Coupé only consumes 7.7 litres per 100km fuel and achieves CO2 emissions of a mere 177 g/km. Driving Dynamics Control where drivers are able to choose between sporting agility or exceptional ride comfort at a push of a button to individually adjust the vehicle’s characteristics, including engine and steering response, gearshift dynamics, DSC Stability Control, as well as the electronic dampers and body roll stabilisation offer a more superior and penetrative driving experience. As the only vehicle in its segment to feature this feature, the BMW Head-Up Display and BMW Night Vision projects virtual images from the road ahead as well as detailing vital information onto the windscreen in full spectrum of colour, significantly increasing road safety and allowing one’s eyes to focus on distance viewing, cutting down stress and ensuring a much more comfortable drive.
Night driving will be further enhanced in the new BMW 650i Coupé as the car is the first BMW model to be fitted with Adaptive LED Headlights with cornering light capabilities. Both the high beam and low beams of the car is generated by LED units in the two light rings present in both sides of the headlights clusters. Their luminosity of the LED lights resemble that of daylight and creates an especially bright and harmonious beam. The daytime running lights, accent lights, direction indicators, very distinctive design with the lower part of the light rings cut off to form a straight line.
BMW 6 Series Coupé is also covered by BMW’s extensive service program, BMW Service + Repair Inclusive (BS+RI). The service program offers peace of mind BMW ownership and provides cover from three years from its original registration date or 60,000KM, whichever comes first.
The retail price (on the road, without insurance, with BMW Service Inclusive + Repair) for the new BMW 640i Coupé is RM 768,800.00 and RM 888,800.00 for the new BMW 650i Coupé.
