Mercedes To Take The NEW A-Class Topless

Strong rumors in the market that a convertible version of the A-Class is on its way. This new A-Class Cabriolet will take on cars such as the new VW Golf cabrio, the BMW 1-Series convertible and the Audi A3 cabriolet. Mercedes-Benz aims to achieve its long-term goal of becoming the number one premium manufacturer in terms of sales and this new A-Class will help in emerging and price sensitive markets. During a presentation at the launch of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class, Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche announced that five new compact cars are on their way within the next five years.

The convertible seems to be a strong possible as it will be a strong product to challenge the segment where the SLK and SL is priced too high to meet buyer expectations. This A-Class convertible will probably receive a fabric roof, so don’t expect to see a smaller SLK. It appears that costs are the main reason to use a fabric roof, but the fact that it is lighter is also very important. This new A-Class will probably not arrive in Malaysia in the very near future.
