Perodua’s maiden export of the New Myvi to Mauritius

Perodua is making its maiden export of the recently launched New Perodua Myvi 1.3 litre model to Mauritius as part of its efforts to boost overseas sales. A total of 22 units of the New Perodua Myvi are already on Mauritian shores.  
Perodua Managing Director, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said the national car company will increase its export sales to 20,000 units by 2015 from an expected 8,000 units this year. “This plan, which is a part of our 5-year strategic road map, involves increasing the export volume to our existing markets; while at the same time exploring to new right-hand drive markets that has similar standards as Malaysia,” he said at the launch of the New Perodua Myvi 1.3 model in the Mauritian capital here yesterday. The New Perodua Myvi was launched by Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius, the Honourable Dr. Ahmed Rashid Beebeejaun.
Other attendees include Mr. Mohamad Nizan Mohamad, Malaysian Charge d’Affairs to Mauritius; Mrs. Norhaliza Halid, Trade Commissioner from Malaysian Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE); Mr. Mazhaidy Mazlan, Director of Tourism Malaysia; and Mr. Raouf Dusmohamud, Managing Director of Rauf Dusmohamud and Co Ltd – Perodua distributor to Mauritius. Aminar said that Mauritius was a thriving market and expect Perodua’s overall sales performance in that country to grow by 67% to 200 units in 2012 from 120 units expected this year. He added that Mauritius was an important market for Perodua as the country offers an international platform for Perodua to showcase its products to the world as it is one of the world’s famous tourists destination. “With this exposure, we are able to sample and subsequently understand the world’s perception towards our vehicles and brand,” Aminar said. Since 1996, Rauf Dusmohamud and Co Ltd, has sold a total of 1,227 Perodua vehicles in Mauritius ranging from the Kancil, Rusa, Kenari, Kelisa, Myvi and ViVA.
The New Perodua Myvi launched today consists of 4 variants – AT and MT, as well as Standard and Premium variants. This model comes in 6 colours: Mystical Purple, Ebony Black, Metallic Grey, Glittering Silver, Pearl White and Ivory white.
