Toyota Sharpens The Avanza For 2012

With strong sales since its launch, the Avanza has been a money spinner for Toyota till today. However sales in Malaysia have slowed down with the introduction of newer more competitive priced products from the competition. Then there is a rather dated looks of the current Avanza which was recently given a mild face-lift with little effect. Still, the Avanza has a strong reliable engine and simple electronics for those looking for a simple family vehicle. Now here come an all-new Avanza compact MPV with little modern engineering input which has been boasted by Toyota management in their recent new product unveilings at the Tokyo Motor Show…….Toyota ‘REBORN’ and exciting to drive…….not with this new Avanza we think.

As you can see from the pictures, it has sharper styling and slightly more space inside; the new Avanza will however not carry a new range of engines which is not surprising as Malaysians will not ask for it. In fact, you can expect to see Malaysians continuing the visit Toyota showrooms to buy the new 1.3- and 1.5-litre Avanza when it is launched. The interior has been significantly upgraded with darker easier to clean and maintain practical trim. There is only 1 new feature added and to this new Avanza which is electric power steering assistance. No surprises here.
