Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster Is Here

This is the all-new Aventador LP700-4 Roadster that features a carbon fiber two-piece roof manufactured using technologies such as RTM and Forged Composite. The two parts are removable, easy to handle and can be stored in the front luggage compartment. This means that in few seconds the Aventador can be transformed from a coupe to a stylish roadster.

Moreover, the rear pillar has been redesign in order to offer support for the removable roof but also accommodate an automatic protection system for passengers as well as providing ventilation to the engine compartment. As you can see from the photos, the engine hood on the Roadster differs from the hood on the coupé because of its central “spinal column” featuring two pairs of hexagonal windows connected at the sides.

Lamborghini added them in order to cool the engine and drain off rain water properly. The powered rear windshield not only influences the flow of air in the vehicle, but also controls the experience of the sound from the twelve-cylinder engine. Furthermore, the Aventador Roadster features door glasses with chamfered edges in order to ensure a perfect fit into the hard-top seal. What’s more interesting is that the Aventador Roadster features a two-tone finish, as the windshield pillar, the two roof sections and the rear window area up to the “fins” are painted in gloss black. This means that the vehicle can now be customized even more in order to match the customer’s needs.

The colour you see on the Aventador Roadster is brand new and it is named Azzuro Thetis or a metallic blue color whose tone varies with the angle of the light. This was created in order to recall the shade of the extraordinarily beautiful 1968 Miura Roadster.

The interior was also updated and has a new look due to the fact that it uses a of leather called Sabbia Nefertem in order to highlight the superb hand-made craftsmanship of the upholstery from Sant’ Agata Bolognese. The design of the car is completed by a new set of wheels called Dione, which feature a daring, aggressive look.

The wheels are created in light forged aluminum and they lower the weight of the vehicle by 10 kg as compared with the standard set of rims. Under the hood we find the same 6.5-liter V12 engine delivering 700 hp and bolted to an ISR 7-speed gearbox. The engine can push the car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3 seconds all the way to a top speed of 350 km/h or 217 mph. Pricing starts at 300,000 euro, excluding taxes.
