Renault Clio RS 200 EDC makes its debut
The new Renault Clio RS 200 EDC makes its debut for the first time in Asia (ex-Australia), here in Malaysia. Fresh from its global debut late last year at the Paris Motor Show, the new Renault Clio RS 200 EDC was specially brought in by TC Euro Cars, the sole distributor of Renault Cars in Malaysia to mark the beginning of the F1 Grand Prix Weekend. Williams F1 Drivers Pastor Maldonado and Valtteri Bottas were on hand to unveil the car.
Malaysia, as the first venue in Asia to debut the latest model from Renault, demonstrates the strong commitment that both TC Euro Cars and Renault have towards the Malaysian market. “We wanted to show the Malaysian public the latest and best from Renault, and the new Clio RS 200 EDC couldn’t have been a better model to showcase just exactly that. Both TC Euro Cars and Renault have worked very hard to make this a reality” according to Mr Kuan Kim Luen, Director of TC Euro Cars.
Featuring a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine with 200 hp and 240 Nm of torque, the new Clio RS 200 EDC reaches the 100 kph mark in 6.7 seconds. In keeping with Renault Sport tradition, the Clio RS 200 EDC combines spirited performance with everyday usability. It comes with the sole option of a 6-speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) transmission, which can be selected to switch gears automatically or manually. Manual shifting is done through steering mounted shift paddles. The new Clio RS 200 EDC also debuts the new RS Monitor 2.0, the market’s most comprehensive on board telemetry system for a production road car.
The new car will be on display at the Renault Flagship Showroom in Section 13, Petaling Jaya. It is open to everyone for a more detailed viewing of the car. The new Clio RS 200 EDC will also be on tour around key locations within the Klang Valley.
As part of the Renault Sport Ownership experience, Renault Sport Owners were also invited for a meet and greet session with the F1 drivers. It is a chance for Renault Sport Owners to get up close and personal with the stars of the F1 world, to have a photo taken and even have a quick chat with them. This exclusive invite is part of the many privileges enjoyed by Renault Sport Owners around Malaysia.
