Chevrolet Cruze Diesel Is Fuel Efficient

The latest version of the Chevrolet Cruze is also fitted with turbo diesel engine that will achieve fuel economy figures of around 46mpg on the highway which is 4mpg better than General Motors’ initial target. The mpg estimate for 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Turbo Diesel will allow it to surpass the figures for its 2013 Volkswagen Jetta diesel rival, which achieves 42 mpg on the highway. The 2-liter turbo diesel engine of the Cruze Turbo Diesel also provides more power than the Jetta diesel, at figures of 148 hp compared to 140 hp.

According to GM, the Cruze diesel emits 90 percent less nitrogen oxide and particulate emissions than the earlier diesel models. A GM spokeswoman said they wanted to be clear that the Cruze diesel would be at the same level or better than the Jetta diesel. GM’s engineering team implemented a series of incremental changes to the Cruze diesel from the Eco model to gain efficiency.

The Chevy Cruze diesel is sold in neighbouring Thailand as they have high quality diesel on sale unlike Malaysia where we get only Euro2M diesel.
