Natasha Seatter To Drive For PICC Team StarChase
Reigning Porsche Carrera Cup Asia champions PICC Team StarChase have announced young female talent Natasha Seatter of Malaysia for the upcoming double header supporting the 2013 FORMULA 1 UBS CHINESE GRAND PRIX. Regular team driver, Alexandre Imperatori, will be busy contesting the Silverstone round of the FIA World Endurance Championship in preparation for his debut in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.
Twenty-year old Seatter has been dubbed ‘Asia’s fastest female formula driver’, and most recently won the Gulfsport Trophy at the Dubai Autodrome at the end of March. She began her career in karts, going on to win a scholarship to the Petronas Formula Xperience in 2009. The following season she joined Formula BMW Pacific with the Petronas Mofaz Racing Team, contesting a second season with the renamed Formula JK Series in 2011.
In March this year, Natasha made her first foray into GT competition, contesting the Malaysian Super Series race in support of the Grand Prix where she beat a number of seasoned sportscar campaigners. While the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia is the pinnacle of GT racing in the region, Seatter will be making her debut with a championship-winning team, and PICC Team StarChase has pledged to put its formidable expertise behind her. Originally scheduled as Round 2 of the 2013 championship, a second race has been added to the Shanghai weekend, giving PICC Team StarChase and newcomer Seatter two opportunities to compete at China’s most high-profile and prestigious motorsport weekend.
