BMW Group Malaysia has unveiled the first BMW M6 Gran Coupé, yet another masterpiece by the world renowned BMW M GmbH.
Design: The Beauty of Majestic Power Delivery.
The BMW M6 Gran Coupé exudes sophistication and top end performance through a combination of dynamic appearance, prodigious power delivery and unmatched handling precision and luxury appeal. The conceptual harmony characteristic of M Automobiles is also fully reflected in the body structure of the new BMW M6 Gran Coupé.

The hallmark M design features are influenced directly by technical considerations, such as the cooling air requirements, chassis geometry, 50-50 weight balance and aerodynamics, lending visual appearance to the outstanding performance attributes of the BMW M6 Gran Coupé, one of the winners of the recent Automotive Brand Contest by the German Design Council in the Exterior Premium Brand Category. In addition to that, the BMW M6 Gran Coupé was also awarded a Red Dot Design Award in the “Automotive and Transport” category in acknowledgement of its excellent design quality.
Featuring a dynamically contoured, lightweight roof made from Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP), BMW engineers were able to optimize overall weight and lower the cars centre of gravity for increased agility. The visible extremely lightweight carbon structure not only provides an unmistakeably unique look, it also allows a dynamic recess in the centre of the roof with a stylish contoured centre line design which improves air flow.

The car’s sports character is further defined with the addition of numerous M-specific design features such as the large air inlets which assist in cooling down its powerful V8 engine, flared wheel arches which draw the eye to a track width specific to the BMW M6 Gran Coupé, aerodynamically optimised side sills, M exterior mirrors, standard BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line package, exclusive 20-inch M Light-alloy wheels in double-spoke design and the hallmark quad tailpipes which are iconic to the M brand. Also integrated into the rear apron is the Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) diffuser to optimize airflow along the car’s underbody. Meanwhile, a redesigned BMW M kidney grille integrating the M6 logo as well as Adaptive LED Headlights with highly distinctive cut-off light rings gives the new BMW M6 Gran Coupé a striking front profile.

From the side, the first four-door Coupé in the BMW M GmbH ranks is clearly distinguishable from the BMW M6 Coupé thanks to its rear doors and 113-millimetre longer wheelbase. The low roofline flowing smoothly into the rear, the swage line which takes in the door openers and side windows extending well into the C-pillars accentuate the dynamically stretched silhouette.
Emulating the harmonious blend of athletic prowess and elegances embodied by the exterior design, the distinctively M cockpit fuses the sports car interior styling with generous levels of space and a premium quality ambience. The driver will enjoy a great view of the stylish M- specific circular instrument dials with red indicator needles, and white light illumination.  They will also be able to rest their hands on an exclusive M leather steering wheel which is ergonomically optimized for dynamic driving and features a dual-spoke design. The BMW M6 Gran Coupé also features Merino leather upholstery with extended features. The rear compartment offers two or three seats with backrests which can be split and folded down in a ratio of 40:60 to increase boot capacity from 460 to as much as 1,265 litres – a first in the BMW M family.
It is of course the new BMW M6 Gran Coupé’s power-plant which brings this exceptional sports car’s dynamics to life and BMW customers will be awestruck by the power delivery of the hi-revving BMW V8 engine. The 4.4 litre engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology which includes two TwinScroll turbochargers, a cross-bank exhaust manifold serving all cylinder banks, High Precision Injection direct injection, VALVETRONIC and Double-VANOS.
