Russ Swift wows Malaysians with first ever Subaru stunt show tour

Motor Image Malaysia, the official distributor of Subaru in Malaysia, debuted The Subaru Russ Swift Tour at The 19 USJ City Mall as part of on-going efforts to raise awareness of Subaru and showcase the core technologies of the Japanese brand. The Subaru Russ Swift Tour stars star world-renowned British precision driver Russell Swift, or better known as Russ Swift, who has electrified crowds around the world with his repertoire of gravity-defying car stunts.

At The 19 USJ City Mall open air car park, crowds were captivated by Russ Swift’s stunt manoeuvres, using a range of Subaru vehicles, the stunts showcased were Reverse Spins/Parallel Parking – parallel parking in the shortest amount of time taken, Doughnuts – spinning a car around in one spot for ten complete revolutions, Two-Wheeling – balancing a car on its driver’s side wheels and Dance Routine – choreographed routine made of exciting spins. Shows were conducted at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm respectively over the weekend and saw a turnout of 1,500 Subaru fans that were amazed by the show.

Russ Swift holds a Guinness World Record for parallel parking, and was a two-time British Autotest Champion and England Autotest Team Captain in 1982 and 1983. In 2004, he set a Guinness World Record for making 10 complete spins with a car (also known as Doughnuts) in just 16.07 seconds – a mere 1.6 seconds for each complete spin. The Subaru Russ Swift Tour will be conducted three times a day (1.00pm, 3.00pm, and 5.00pm) for the public. After Kuala Lumpur, the Subaru Russ Swift Tour will head to the following locations:

Penang: 30^th November & 1^st December 2013

Ipoh: 14^th & 15^th December 2013

Johor Bahru: 21^st & 22^nd December 2013

This is the first time Russ Swift is here in Malaysia performing in a Subaru and he has wowed Subaru fans across Asia namely Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam.
