Ford Previews All-new EcoSport SUV and new Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost®
Ford has a dynamic display of its class-leading vehicles at the 8th Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2013 (KLIMS 2013) starting 15 November, today. The all-new Ford EcoSport compact SUV and new Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost variant makes their Malaysian debut at the show. Both models will continue Ford’s commitment to launching segment-leading vehicles that offer an unmatched combination of design, safety, quality, fuel efficiency and smart technologies, such as Ford’s award-winning SYNC™ infotainment system, all at an affordable price.
Ford’s ultra-fuel efficient and spirited 1.0L EcoBoost petrol engine is intelligent and innovative, delivering up to 20 per cent improvement in fuel economy and 15 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions while ensuring superior driving performance compared to larger displacement engines. The acclaimed three-cylinder powertrain was named International Engine of the Year in 2012 and 2013 – a historic back-to-back title that has only been achieved by two other manufacturers to date.
Ford will also accept bookings for the all-new Ford EcoSport and new Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost during the show. Customers who place a booking and deposit an RM500 booking fee for any new Ford vehicle at Ford’s KLIMS showcase will receive a special gift, while supplies last.
Ford’s impressive line-up of 11 vehicles will include a look into the past with a 1928 Ford classic Model A; the legendary and iconic Ford Mustang Shelby GT500; and a view of what’s coming up next with the Ford Fusion Hybrid.
The Ford Model A helped pave the way to make automobiles accessible and affordable to everyone. The 1928 pick-up on display at KLIMS 2013 is believed to be one of the oldest in the country. Shown in its original condition with minor restoration, the Model A pick-up is a testament to Ford’s know-how and expertise in making solid and sturdy trucks, a tradition which is visible today in the all-new Ford Ranger, the 21st century tough pick-up truck.
A legendary icon that launched a new class of automobiles – the muscle car – the Ford Mustang has thrilled and enthralled car enthusiasts for five decades. The 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 on display boasts an incredibly powerful V8 engine, delivering 662 horsepower, rocketing from 0-100km/h in only 3.5 seconds.
Consuming less petrol than any other hybrid, the Fusion Hybrid is still able to deliver all the torque and muscle of a petrol engine twice its size. The Fusion uses a 2-liter Atkinson-cycle petrol engine that produces 191PS whilst sipping very little fuel.
Ford will also display its full range of One Ford vehicles, including modified and revved-up versions of the class-defining all-new Ford Ranger and the globally best-selling1 all-new Ford Focus, a new all-new Ford Kuga variant and more.
