Will FIAT Buy MV Augusta?

2014 Fiat 500L Beats Edition

Strong rumors are coming from the Italian automotive industry that the FIAT group is planning on acquiring motorcycle company MV Agusta.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to deny rumours circulated by the media over the last few days concerning supposed negotiations vis-à-vis the sale of a share of MV Agusta to the Fiat-Chrysler Group,” said Giovanni Castiglioni, the President and CEO of MV Agusta.

“No such negotiations are taking place, nor have they ever done so,” added the Italian. “My goal is to ensure MV Agusta maintains significant levels of growth while remaining a family business that draws on the incredible passion my father passed on to me and my collaborators; it is a passion that still inspires us to design and build genuine two-wheeled gems.”
