Audi Leads The Le Mans 2014 With Just 3 Hours Left

Just 3 hours to go in the 2014 Le Mans 24 and there is a big shootout with the No. 20 Porsche 919 – Hybrid driven by Bernhard leading. Chasing down the current leader which is the No. 2 Audi R18 E-tron Quattro driven by Lotterer. They are the two lone cars on the lead lap and are separated by about five seconds on this tired and weary track.  No. 1 Audi R18 E-tron Quattro driven by Di Grassi is running third – about three laps down – with the No. 8 Toyota TS 040 – Hybrid driven by Buemi – seven laps down.

In the LM P2 category, the Oak Racing Ligier JS P2 – HPD entry driven by Brundle is leading by about three minutes. The team is seventh overall.

The LM GTE Pro category is led by AF Corse with Fisichella driving at this time, they are 15th overall.

A total of 329 laps around the 8.469 mi circuit have been run. 15 cars have officially retired with 39 still running. Audi has won nine of the last 10 races at Le Mans, including the last four. A total of 54 cars started the 82nd edition of the race, which ends on Sunday at 1300 GMT.
