PROTON Holdings Berhad has announced a fundraising initiative in aid of the war victims in Palestine, particularly in Gaza. The initiative is collaboration with Perdana Global Peace Foundation (“PGPF”). The programme kicks off immediately and was launched by Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohamad, Chairman of PROTON who is also the founder and President of PGPF. The programme will run until 25 September 2014.

This fundraising programme is part of PROTON’s Corporate Responsibility in advocating world peace. “The sufferings of the people in Palestine have been with us for far too long. We certainly sympathize the sufferings, more so with the recent intense attacks by the Israeli forces. What they have been going through cannot be condoned by the civilized world, so for now, other than give our prayers to them, the contributions can help ease their pain to say the very least,” said Dato’ Abdul Harith Abdullah, CEO of PROTON.

“As a responsible and caring organization, we have always been at the forefront of community development activities and assisting those in their time of need. Through this fundraising exercise, we would like to show our support against war and crimes of war while we assist PGPF in their humanitarian relief efforts by way of monetary contributions. Hopefully, this can ease up some of the hardships faced by the people of Palestine, especially in Gaza,” added Dato’ Abdul Harith.
