Transformers 4, Age Of Extinction Brings Chinese Cars To US
The latest Transformers movie has some scenes with Chinese made cars running around avoiding the robots, these cars are from the Chinese automaker Guangzhou Automobile and they are branded as ‘Trumpchi’. The car company is hoping that the presence of the car in the new Transformers movie will help grab the attention of American viewers as it expands its sales in more markets, including potentially in the U.S.
“Our sponsorship of Transformers 4 will help more overseas dealers and consumers know about our cars and over the long run it will greatly contribute to our branding,” Trumpchi brand head Wu Song told Bloomberg news. “We want to start exporting to the U.S. as quickly as possible and I am confident that they will find our Trumpchi cars competitive.”
Trumpchi cars are already on sale in the Middle East, South America and Russia, and Bloomberg is reporting that their most popular model the GS5 crossover may be on sale in the U.S. as early as next year.
