Chopard Mille Miglia GT XL Chrono Speed, What A Driver Needs On The Wrist
Introduced in 2008, the limited edition Mille Miglia GT XL Chrono Speed Black asserts its presence through both its powerful black design and its high-performance mechanism. The magic of black reinforces the contemporary nature of this exceptional chronograph driven by a movement that is chronometer-certified (COSC). A sports watch resolutely in tune with the times, the Mille Miglia CT XL Chrono Speed black sets the seal on the 20-year involvement of Chopard in the world’s most legendary classic car rally.
This timepiece is entirely clad in handsome black shade: Black case, black dial, black Superluminova-coated hands ensuring perfect readability in the dark and a black strap. Even the famous ordinarily red emblem of the legendary race is interpreted in black and white.
The generously sized 44 mm case in DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) blackened steel is scratch-resistant and water-resistant to 100 metres. Lending even greater depth and character to this watch, the dial is distinguished by its split-level chronograph counters as well as by its oversized “6” and “12” o’clock numerals transferred in an original manner beneath the sapphire crystal. The tachometric scale engraved on the streamlined bezel and pushers further reinforces the sporting nature of this watchmaking speed machine. At the heart of this model throbs a mechanical self-winding chronograph mechanism, chronometer-certified (COSC).
Equipped with a stop seconds device to enhance time-setting accuracy, this calibre is adorned with “Côtes de Genève”. It displays the hours, minutes, small seconds at 9 o’clock, the date at 3 o’clock with a built-in lens, chronograph minute and hour counters at 12 and 6 o’clock respectively, along with a central sweep seconds chronograph hand.
The Mille Miglia GT XL Chrono Speed Black is held firmly to the wrist by a natural black rubber strap – featuring the 1960s Dunlop Racing tyre-tread motif – with folding clasp in DLC blackened steel.
The Mille Miglia GT XL Chrono Speed Black was issued in a limited edition of 1,000 pieces as boutique edition.
