ISUZU V-CROSS ADVENTURE –A 4X4 HARDCORE EXPERIENCE
ISUZU V-Cross Adventure – Malaysia’s 1st 4×4 reality series wrapped up recently, and members of the public will soon be able to catch webisodes of the reality series via YouTube from 4 November 2014 onwards. The 4×4 reality series saw six teams of pairs going through thrilling and exhilarating challenges in various locations around Ulu Slim and Teratak Riverview, Perak in the new ISUZU D-MAX V-Cross 3.0 – the winner of Asian Auto’s Best Value For Money Pickup Truck award, thus enjoying the exemplary robustness, fuel efficiency and safety of the vehicle. Three of the lucky finalists also had the opportunity to team up with Ben and Hafiz from FlyFM and local actress Diana Danielle.
ISUZU is the first auto brand to organise a reality series in Malaysia – in conjunction with the recent launch of the ISUZU D-MAX V-Cross and ISUZU D-MAX V-Cross 3.0 Safari variant. The ISUZU V-Cross Adventure received an overwhelming number of applications nationwide via audition videos through their website and roadshows, while also collecting participants from FlyFM’s recruitment initiative.
“The ISUZU V-Cross Adventure challenge saw the participants pitting their resolve and faith in each other against the determination of their challengers. The pair ups – whether with celebrities or among the public participants, also demonstrated the participants’ willingness to put their absolute trust in another person that they had never met prior to the competition. It was both intense and challenging for the teams, but this was where they combined their skills of observation, planning and manoeuvring with trust in their teammate, while leaning on the machine that would carry them throughout the challenges. Using the new ISUZU D-MAX for the challenge – fitted with new styling and new levels of safety plus ISUZU’s legendary durability and fuel efficiency, the teams had quite an adventure tackling the side slopes, steep inclines and rutted tracks of the terrain in the Teratak Jungle, making this 4×4 expedition truly exhilarating,” said Chief Operating Officer of ISUZU Malaysia Daisuke Ishida.
The Ultimate Adventure
The finalists left the city to begin their challenge – testing their physical and mental mettle during the ISUZU V-Cross Challenge, which started from 10 October and ended on 13 October 2014. In this reality series, participants had the opportunity to learn fundamental communication between the driver and co-driver – to safely navigate off-road environments. They also used the 4-wheel drive functions to conquer challenges from Mother Nature such as river crossings, mud terrain, slippery slopes and others. Finally, they were able to put all their new found driving skills to the test in a ‘time attack’ challenge that required technical competency and speed.
The winners of the ISUZU V-Cross Adventure, to be revealed on the last episode, will walk away with RM20,000. The ISUZU V-Cross Adventure is co-sponsored by Arnold Palmer, Van Heusen and Beverly Hills Polo Club while Motor Trader is the official automotive magazine. Participants were energised by Red Bull energy drink during the challenge. The challenge was also supported by Fly FM.

A new webisode will be available online on every Tuesday and Thursday for three consecutive weeks. There will be a special hour-long feature as well, to be aired on Bloomberg Television on Astro’s Channel 519, after the last webisode is shown.
