Glycine Airman Airfighter – In Camouflage Design
The traditional Swiss watchmaker Glycine, which has a tradition of specializing in bespoke watches for pilots and divers, took the market by surprise in 2014 with a genuine novelty by the name of the Airman AIRFIGHTER. Now this dynamic timepiece is available in a camouflage version inspired by Glycine’s long history of collaboration with the armed forces.
The Airman AIRFIGHTER is a genuine pilot’s watch with three individual time zones. The second time zone sits elegantly on the luminous internal bezel with a dynamic GMT hand with white triangle pointer indicating the time in the 24-hour zone. The hand can be easily operated and moved by turning the central crown. The third time zone is operated by the Airman’s signature 24-hour rotating bezel by simply turning the bezel after first releasing the locking crown at the 4H position.
The stage for the perfect orchestration of the three time zones is set by the precision crafted dial which is in total harmony with the perfectly coordinated hands. A sapphire glass with anti-reflective scratch-resistant coating on both sides protects the watch, keeping it in optimum condition for precision readings in all three time zones.
The watch is set in an imposing 46mm case made with painstaking attention to detail and a chronograph mechanism operated with a revolutionary push-piece, ideally situated at the 9H position with the thumb of the right hand. The final flourish comes in the comfortable high-quality strap in camouflage design which can also be supplied on request with a folding clasp.
The Airman AIRFIGHTER is kept in time by a highly acclaimed GL 754-calibre automatic movement (ETA specification). The beautiful aircraft skeleton on the oscillating weight of the movement will set hearts racing among watch aficionados. This masterpiece is now available in anthracite black with red and blue markings.
