Porsche Reengineer the Classic 911 Dashboard with Modern Materials

It is back: Porsche Classic is reproducing the dashboard of the classic 911 of model years 1969 to 1975. A sophisticated manufacturing process combines high quality that meets today’s standards and a design that is true to the original down to the details. The dashboard consists of a modern substructure and the original surface structure. The fluted texture and tactile feel, gloss and degree of black are identical to the original. The new part can be ordered from any Porsche centre, and in Germany it costs 951.99 euros including VAT.

Like the technical equipment, the interiors of classic vehicles are subject to normal wear. Solar radiation as well as fluctuations in temperature and humidity attack the surface and materials. Today’s materials hold up better. Therefore, to preserve the long-term value of Porsche classic cars, Porsche classic re-engineered the dashboard. Extensive tests conducted to modern standards assure 100-percent fit precision and quality even under harsh climatic conditions.

As an original part, the dashboard, which also contains the loudspeaker cover, can only be installed by the original assembly procedure – which involves removing the windscreen. That is why Porsche Classic recommends the replacement by Porsche Classic partners who have trained experts. And if you’re going to up your classic 911’s dashboard, there’s even a navigation system that though not period-correct, is still designed by Porsche to look like it is. There’s an undersized screen, but the functionality is modern, it even has Bluetooth for handsfree operation.
