Breitling’s “B06″ 30-Second Chronograph for Bentley
Breitling recently rolled out a new addition to its Bentley lineup of fine watches. Dubbed the “Bentley B06,” the 49mm chronograph maintains the exclusive 30-second system of its predecessor, but comes in a more compact package. Described by its makers as a “highly exclusive engine,” the “B06″ takes automotive references seriously, boasting a sporty and streamlined design that is rife with nods to the best features of Bentley cars. For instance, the bezel features a series of small ridges that are meant to resemble the elegance of Bentley’s radiator grills. Additionally, the black and silver body and dial are in-tune with the color scheme preferred by the carmaker.
What both Bentley and Breitling are (rightly) most proud of, however, is the interior. The timepiece’s special functions were developed and produced entirely in-house, and, as mentioned before, the “B06″ comes equipped with a special 30-second chronograph. Essentially this means that the central hand moves across the dial in exactly half a minute, making readings precise up to an eighth-of-a-second. The concept was based off of an existing Breitling patent from 1926, which has since been tweaked for accuracy.
If you’re looking to purchase the “B06″ you can expect a 70-hour power reserve and water resistance up to 100 meters. The watch will also retail with steel or 18k red gold case options along with Barenia leather, crocodile leather or rubber strap choices.
