Today in Automotive History – 3 September
Today is a really special anniversary for speed freaks all over the world because in 1935 the land speed record game changed forever. On this day, Sir Malcolm Campbell broke set a new land speed record on the Bonneville Salt Flats, becoming the first man to ever travel at over 300km/h in an automobile.
He went on to break many other records and be one of the few speed record breakers to die of natural causes but this feat was without a doubt his most impressive. Well, at least to us.
