Toyota Shows Latest Prius and C-HR @ Tokyo Motor Show 2015

Toyota brought a number of important vehicles to the Tokyo Motor Show this year, but the two that really stood out were the C-HR Concept and the all-new Prius. The Prius is important for a number of reasons. Increased range and improved all-electric modes are key to making it competitive in a market where hybrids are facing competition from other alternative fuel vehicles.

From the sample shown, it can be said that the new Prius is going for a more conservative look. We remember the previous Prius models being a lot more polarising on the inside. This one is still futuristic and plastic-clad, but has a toned down look about it.

Boot space is generous and the Prius retains its hatch/lift back  form but takes the exterior to interesting places with this generation.

The front end takes obvious cues from its hydrogen powered sibling, the Mirai yet manages to maintain the Prius’ signature look.

Design-wise however, Toyota really stretched its legs with the C-HR. The crossover apparently is a four-door with hidden rear door handles to give it the look of a coupe. We really like this one and hope to see a production version soon to inject some competition in the market.
