Mercedes CEO Unhappy With VW Dieselgate Scandal

Mercedes CEO Dieter Zetsche has openly criticized the Volkswagen group over their emissions scandal. He said the recent dieselgate issues plaguing Volkswagen would not be possible at Mercedes. This is the first time that Zetsche has made a negative comment about another company as In general, he does not criticize competitors. Zetsche cooment came at a reception in the German capital this week as he also commented that there is nothing else to do, because the scandal affected the whole auto sector.

The scandal has caused concern in Germany that the image of its powerful auto sector has been tarnished and also raised questions about diesel technology in which German carmakers have invested in.

Zetsche also said Daimler was sticking to diesel technology and urged the European Commission to quickly decide how to measure emissions in future.
