Ford’s February Sales Led by New Ranger
Ford today announced February retail sales of 524 units in Malaysia driven by the class-defining Ranger pickup truck which contributed sales of 432 units. The Ranger is Malaysia’s most powerful and capable pickup truck with unmatched safety features that include up to six airbags, and driver assistance technologies such as Lane Keeping Aid and Adaptive Cruise Control.
The Ranger is also the only pickup truck in Malaysia that offers Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and ISOFIX child safety mounts as standard safety features across all variants. Additionally, the new Ranger has a 5-star crash test rating from ASEAN NCAP, including the highest Adult Occupant Protection score of any pickup truck tested.
“The Ranger is unmatched in its segment, with versatility and capability that delivers everything today’s truck customers want – whether for work, recreation, or a combination of both,” said David Westerman, managing director, Malaysia and Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, Ford Motor Company.
Ford added to its EcoBoost-powered lineup this month with the launch of the all-new S-MAX MPV, equipped with Ford’s 2.0L EcoBoost engine, and the new Focus, equipped with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine. As the most powerful small car in Malaysia, the new Focus is also one of the most connected, with smart technology such as SYNC 2, Perpendicular Park Assist, BLIS with Cross Traffic Alert, and enhanced Active City Stop.
“With the addition of the S-MAX and Focus to the showroom, and soon the Everest SUV and iconic Mustang, we look forward to building positive momentum as the year progresses,” added Westerman.
