Kia Rio Sedan X Launched in Malaysia for RM77,888
Naza Kia Malaysia, the official distributor of KIA vehicles in Malaysia, has launched the Rio Sedan X. As a new variant into the mid-size sedan segment of the market, the Rio Sedan X’s target market is the young and trendy who are looking for a vehicle to suit their lifestyle. New additions offered by the Rio Sedan X include a sporty body kit, exclusive leather seats and a multimedia infotainment system with reverse camera. The full body kits cover the front skirt, side skirt, rear skirt and rear spoiler, making for a sporty appearance.
The multimedia infotainment system’s technology incorporates entertainment and communication functions into a single unit. It consists of mirror link function with Android and IOS, a large 7-inch LCD screen, radio/mp3/mp4/RDS, voice command function and hands-free Bluetooth function. Mirror Link allows compatible smartphones to display and control applications on-screen. This lends a new dimension, for instance, to the use of navigation software or to the enjoyment of personal music. The infotainment system will detect a smartphone that has either an IOS or an Android base platform device.
Designed to add visual width and stronger presence, KIA’s signature ‘Tiger Nose’ grille insert incorporates the now-familiar geometric pattern found on other Kia vehicles. The fog light surrounds include strong horizontal satin-finish bezels that house projector lenses and bulb-type daytime running lights for a more aggressive appearance and optimal visibility.
The high-quality interior showcases a tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio remote control, Bluetooth, an audio system connected to six speakers with tweeter. Practicality runs deep through the Rio Sedan X, where this is especially evident in the 60:40 back seat recline, 389 litre trunk space and 35% extra boot space. Strong engine performance comes in the form of Kia’s Gamma 1.4 MPI DOHC CVVT Engine which produces 109 PS and 137 Nm of torque, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.
In addition, the Rio Sedan X is fitted with motor-driven power steering (MDPS) that saves fuel consumption by 3% by eliminating hydraulics in favour of an electrically-driven motor. The Rio Sedan X comes packed with class-leading safety features designed for maximum protection for its occupants. Some of the prominent safety features are the four-disc brakes, anti-lock brake system (ABS), tire pressure monitoring system and electronic stability control (ESC) to safely negotiate asymmetrical driving situations. The Rio Sedan X is also equipped with a vehicle stability management (VSM) that helps the driver maintain control of the vehicle when making sharp turns or sudden swerves, a hill-start assist control (HAC) and rear parking sensor for its drivers’ and passengers’ well-being. Other features include six airbags, High-Strength Steel, ISOFIX, power windows and door locks along with keyless entry.
Available in Bright Silver, Signal Red, Deep Blue and Clear White, the Rio Sedan X is priced at RM77,888 with the addition of exclusive leather seats, multimedia infotainment system and full body kit.
The Rio Sedan X comes with a five years warranty with unlimited mileage with terms and conditions applied.
