0Dennis Lind Bags Second Victory of Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo at Silverstone
Dennis Lind was the ruler at Silverstone during all the first part of the weekend. First, he was the leader in the two free practice sessions on Friday, then he was the author of his first pole position and in Race 1 the Dane of the team Raton Racing scored his second victory (the first one was in Monza), putting him in the leading position in the PRO class ranking.
The second of the six double events of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe saw Vito Postiglione of Imperiale Racing among the protagonists again. On the podium there were also the 18-year-old Martin Kodric (Bonaldi Motorsport) and his teammates, Patrick Kujala and Adrian Amstutz, fifth place overall and first in PRO-AM class.
In the leading group, there was Nicola Larini, author of a great performance with the Huracán of Petri Corse: eleventh position in qualifying and an excellent fourth place in Race 1.
Meanwhile, Loris Spinelli and Enrico Fulgenzi did a solid race and occupied the second position for the most part of the race. But a penalty received for an irregular starting procedure cost them 10 seconds and they finished in 6th position overall.
Remarkable was the race of Marco Mapelli, at his first experience with the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo behind the wheel of a car of Vincenzo Sospiri Racing. After a disappointing first qualifying session, the experienced Italian driver was forced to start from the 41th place. In 50 minutes he moved up to seventh overall and finished just ahead of the two French drivers of Konrad Motorsport, Nicolas Armindo and Henry Hassid, who opened the season with a victory in Race 2 at Monza.
Among the AM drivers, second victory in a row for the 17-year-old Dutchman, Rik Breukers (GDL Racing), who was able to strengthen its class championship lead. Tim Richards of Toro Loco gained a success in the Lamborghini Cup class on his home circuit.
Race 2 at Silverstone is starting tomorrow at 14.20 (CET) and is being broadcast live in Italy by Nuvolari TV, free-to-air on channel 61 of the DTT, as well as in live streaming on the website of Lamborghini Squadra Corse: http://squadracorse.lamborghini.com/en/live. Race 1 and Race 2 will be broadcasted again on the official YouTube channel of Automobili Lamborghini: http://www.youtube.com/lamborghini.
