Business Class: Now Standard in the All-New Ford Everest

The all-new Ford Everest delivers unmatched rugged off-road capability with an interior that redefines what comfort can mean in a 4×4 capable SUV. The all-new Everest’s premium interior is jam-packed with modern features and smart, sophisticated design, complemented with refined and tough materials and advanced fabrics that allow drivers and to passengers drive on and off the road in comfort.

To ensure a quiet interior, Ford engineers made extensive use of sound-deadening materials, including specially designed acoustic glass for the windshield, to keep out road, engine and traffic noise. Additionally, the Ford aerodynamics team conducted thousands of simulations to create a shape that slips through the air, and developed aerodynamic “sails” on the wing mirrors that significantly reduce wind noise by up to 10 dB when driving with the windows down. They also introduced hydraulic engine mounts that help reduce engine vibrations for a smoother ride.

Engineering advancements are coupled with Ford’s Active Noise Cancellation for a ride that is as quiet as can be. Similar to noise-cancelling headphones, the system uses three microphones to record low-frequency engine noise and generates sound waves that are played through the stereo to cancel the noise out, enabling comfortable conversation between passengers from the front of the cabin all the way back to the third row. The module instantaneously and continuously generates opposing sound waves, which are then directed through the Everest audio system and combined with the original engine noise wave to cancel out any potentially objectionable sound within the range of 30Hz to 180Hz.

No detail was too small for scrutiny; for the air registers, Ford designers chose an elegant, satin chrome that allows for highlights and reflections, but doesn’t have the thin feel of shinier chromes. For interior elements that consumers frequently touch, like the handles or door trim, the Everest employs refined materials for a softer feel.

Comfort and refinement are important for all passengers, and the Everest’s flexible and roomy seating ensures that riders throughout the entire cabin are comfortable. The driver sits in style with an eight-way power seat, while the front passenger gets a two-way manually adjusted seat. The second row comes equipped with sliding and reclining seats, temperature and fan controls, a power outlet for charging laptops, and an additional 12-volt socket for charging mobile devices.

The second row seats boast armrests and have a 60/40 split, and the electric PowerFold third row seats can be folded flat at the touch of a button. Both the second and third rows were designed to maximise cargo space, and can be folded completely flat to create a load-bearing area with storage of up to 2,010 litres of cargo.

The refined interior of the new Everest was crafted with functionality from the word go. More than 30 storage areas totalling 48 litres of space make sure there’s a place for everything – including a cleverly designed glove box that can fit a 16-inch laptop, and room in the boot to horizontally stack golf clubs. Elsewhere, ambient lighting and the overhead console containing Map Light and sunglasses holder come standard across the range.

Staying informed in the new Everest is easy. With the Everest’s high-resolution dual-screen instrument cluster, drivers can see all of the information that they need at a glance. The cluster can be personalised to display whatever information is most relevant, from current entertainment information to fuel economy and the distance to empty, and even 4×4 information and torque distribution, plus much, much more.

And to help drivers stay connected with in-car technology and their digital lives, the new Everest also comes equipped with Ford’s voice-activated connectivity system, SYNC 2. SYNC allows easy control of the Everest’s entertainment system, climate and navigation, and it can even make calls and read text messages aloud, all with simple and natural voice commands.

Furthermore, the all-new Everest is the first vehicle in its segment to come with Ford’s exclusive MyKey system, which allows the programming of various features such as adjusting the maximum speed limit, seatbelt reminders and the maximum volume of the audio system.

Priced from RM198,888 on the road without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia and RM201,888 in East Malaysia, the all-new Everest is available in four elegant colours: Sunset Metallic, Cool White, Black Mica Metallic and Aluminium Metallic.
