Ford’s ‘Driving Skills for Life’ Programme Expands to Students in the Northern Region of Malaysia
Ford and local distributor Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) continued its efforts to raise road safety awareness in Malaysia through Ford’s global Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) programme, recently hosting workshops for students in the Northern Region of Malaysia at the Han Chiang College, Penang.
The free-of-charge DSFL workshops were specially tailored to address the risks that young drivers face on the road, such as dealing with unexpected situations, the dangers of distracted driving such as use of mobile phones while behind the wheel, hazard recognition, speed management and the importance of ensuring child seats are securely fastened.
“Ford is passionate about raising public awareness on road safety and we are proud to continue this very practical programme here in Malaysia to help raise awareness of safe driving and driver safety,” said Syed Ahmad Muzri Syed Faiz, managing director, Sime Darby Auto Connexion.
“We are pleased to expand DSFL training to the Northern Region of Malaysia for the first time as we continue to provide younger drivers with the tools and resources they need to drive safely,” said Muzri.
DSFL is Ford’s flagship global corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme offering free-of-charge, hands-on drivers training that covers hazard recognition, vehicle handling, speed/space management, and distraction awareness. In Malaysia, DSFL is organized in partnership with Ford’s local distributor Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC).
In Asia, Ford DSFL is now in its ninth successful year of training licensed drivers of all ages. In addition to Malaysia, DSFL training is provided in China, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.
