New from the Straton Watch Co. Syncro
Young watch brand Straton Watch Co. is launching their latest addition, the Syncro, a stylish timepiece collection inspired by 1970s stopwatch designs. Two styles are available: Automotive with checkered bezel and Diving with minute bezel.
Established by Kyle Schut in 2015, Straton Watch Co. so far undertaken 2 successful Kickstarter campaigns and delivered over 2000 watches in the last couple of years. With this new watch collection, the watch brand aims to promote its vintage styled timepieces through the popular crowd funding website. Available with variety of options, the Syncro collection can satisfy the needs of majority of customers especially sports chronograph lovers and diving watch enthusiasts.
The Syncro chronograph, which proudly carries 70s watch styles, is equipped with meca-quartz hybrid or automatic movement depends upon the version.
For automatic version, which is limited to 200 pieces as founders’ edition, Straton Watch Co. has chosen highly reliable NE88 Automatic movement manufactured by SEIKO. This high end self winding movement features a vertical clutch that eliminates the “jumping seconds hand” at the start of a stopwatch function. The column wheel system coordinates the chronograph functions in a way that ensures consistent operation and less stress for other components.
Beating at the rate of 28,800 vph and equipped with 34 jewels the NE88 Calibre can deliver power reserve of 45 hours. This automatic chronograph can be admired through the sapphire crystal caseback.
In quartz version, beats the SEIKO VK64 Meca-Quartz movement, a hybrid calibre that fuses high precision timekeeping of a quartz watch with mechanical chronograph functions. Quartz model has a stainless steel caseback.
Dressed in a surgical grade stainless steel case with polished and brushed finishing, this timepiece also has domed sapphire crystal front glass, screwed down crown, chronograph pushers at 2’o clock & 4’o clock, rotating bezel with chequered or block minute pattern and inner bezel with tachymeter function. Customers can chose two case sizes: 40mm or 44mm. A DLC coated case version is also available.
The dashboard inspired dial houses luminous hour and minute hands, large hour markers with Superluminova, two chronograph counters respectively at 3’o clock and nine clock and a central chronograph seconds hands. All chronograph hands are in orange colour. The Syncro chronograph is offered in various dial colour versions and with or without date options.
When it comes to straps, the timepiece comes fitted with stylish leather strap or mesh bracelet and the packaging include two additional NATO straps that can be chosen from 11 different styles.
The brand launched a Kickstarter campaign to promote the Syncro chronograph collection on 01 Feb 2017 and it became an instant hit. The project is so far backed by more than 300 backers and this campaign will be closed on 05 Mar 17. During the KS campaign, the backers can order the timepiece with pre-order price of USD320 for the Meca-Quartz Movement Syncro (final retail USD499) and USD699 for the Automatic Movement Syncro, which is limited to a first production run of 200 pieces (final retail USD999).
Straton Watch Co. is also expanding its array of accessories (which already includes driving gloves) with racing inspired weekender travel duffel bags. The Straton Weekender Bag is available in two styles, and is made from genuine leather and a genuine leather/canvas mix. The pre-order price is USD299 (final retail USD349).
The Syncro watch is available in a variety of options. After choosing the preferred movement, backers of Kickstarter campaign may choose any of the following options below to create their watch:-
- 2 x case sizes: 40mm or 44m
- 2 x movements: VK64 Meca-Quartz or NE88 Automatic
- 2 x bezel choices: Checkered racing bezel or block bezel
- With or without date
- A choice of 2 racing inspired striped straps from the 11 available
