Mitsubishi Triton Updated for 2017 With Best in Class Warranty and More
Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has officially launched the thoroughly updated 2017 Triton today. The refreshed pick-up truck boasts significant improvements in terms of safety and features.
Plus, it now has a warranty package of 200,000km/5-years, which is unprecedented in its segment.
The enhanced Mitsubishi Triton gets a big boost in safety and now scores the maximum rating of five stars in the ASEAN NCAP crash test (NCAP 5 star applies to Adventure variants only) with the availability of 7 SRS airbags. This full suite of airbags helps to cushion all occupants in the event of a collision.
Also new to the enhanced Triton is the Active Stability & Traction Control (ASTC) system on VGT variants. This safety net assists in keeping the vehicle in control when there is a loss of traction.
The Triton in 2017 also receives a more rugged and bolder image. The front grille is darkened and there are newly designed side steps to improve entry and egress.
Automatic bi-xenon HID headlamps with integrated LED Daytime Running Lights on VGT variants provide outstanding illumination for the road ahead, as well as a striking signature look. The Adventure X variant takes the rugged theme further with 17″ dual tone alloy rims and a front bumper shield extender.
The latest Triton’s cabin has been updated with a new four-spoke multi-function steering wheel with audio, Bluetooth, cruise control buttons. There’s also a new instrument cluster. The VGT Adventure variant also receives an 8-way power adjustable driver seat for comfort and convenience. Plus it gets leather seats and a reverse camera too.
The enhanced Triton VGT comes with the latest 2.4-litre MIVEC Turbodiesel engine with Variable Valve Timing Technology. It produces 181PS and 430Nm of torque and is 15% more efficient than the previous 2.5-litre engine.
