We sat through quite a number of luxury SUVs in the last few months. While every single one of them were impressive, most of them seemed to lack any sort of character. It’s as if these were products that existed to fill a niche in the market.
But the moment we stepped into the XC90, we were immediately taken in. It felt genuinely expensive. From its crystal gear selector to the open pore wood trim. Volvo were also one of the first to push for plug-in hybrid technology in a luxury SUV. Plus, they took the initiative to assemble the SUV locally.
For a product and package this complete and the winner has to be the class-leading XC90 T8 Twin Engine.
