Get ready for the Mercedes 4-Door AMG GT

Mercedes is about to launch a 4-door GT that will compete directly with so-called “four-door coupes” such as Audi’s RS7 and Porsche’s Panamera. Designed to evoke the awesome AMG GT coupe and roadster, the E-class–based four-door is lower and wider and features a more steeply raked windshield and a sloping fastback.

Under the hood will sit AMG’s familiar 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 delivering an easy 500 horsepower.

Expect to see the final production car making its debut later this year, most likely at the Frankfurt Motor Show in mid-September.
