The VW Scirocco is Still Sold in Indonesia

The Volkswagen Scirocco was first put on sale in 2008, and we got reports months ago that it was finally being taken out of production given its healthy 9-year lifespan.

But at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, we saw the facelift model still on display.

The model on display had the 1.4 TSI and 7-speed DSG powertrain.

The interior was pretty spartan as well. Besides the flat-bottomed steering wheel and large touchscreen display, there wasn’t a lot of the modern VW stuff. The MDI was the oldschool black-and-white type and the upholstery was in fabric.

Still, this facelift model still looked modern and we can see why the Indonesian market still hasn’t gotten enough of it.

Made us wonder if it could be reintroduced as an affordable hero product with a 6-speed manual. Back in 2016, it was sold in Malaysia for less than RM200K with a 7-speed DSG.
