This is a brand new Hyundai i10

The New Hyundai i10 is enhanced with new advanced active safety and connectivity features from the segments above, as well as modern design refinements, including the new signature Cascading front grille to enhance its emotional appeal.

A great package of connectivity, convenience and active safety

The New Hyundai i10 makes advanced technology available to more people than ever before. Responding to customer demand for simple connectivity features, the New i10 Premium SE includes the latest connectivity features, all integrated into the new seven-inch touchscreen navigation system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto guarantee seamless integration, safe operation and mirrored functionality of mobile devices based on iOS or the Android operating system. In order to be up-to-date, the New i10 Premium SE’s navigation system comes with a seven-year free subscription to LIVE Services, offering real-time traffic and weather conditions, points of interest as well as the position of speed cameras in countries where this is permitted by law. Customers do not even have to choose: the New i10 Premium SE is the only car in its class to offer Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and LIVE Services in a single infotainment system.

In terms of safety options, the New Hyundai i10 now comes with two new advanced features to actively avoid accidents, both based on the new multi-functional camera: a Front Collision Warning System (FCWS) and a Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS). Using front camera sensors, the FCWS alerts the driver acoustically and visually about collision risks arising from other vehicles. The LDWS alerts the driver with an audio alarm sound if the car moves over lane markings to prevent unsafe movements. LDWS and FCWS are optional on SE models and above as part of the Driver Assist Pack.

On the convenience side, the New i10 scores with the tried and tested feature package of its predecessor: automatic air conditioning on SE and SE Blue models, with Premium and Premium SE equipped with climate control as standard. Heated steering wheel and heated front seats on Premium SE make it an ideal companion for every weather condition and every activity. Up to five people fit into the roomy interior and the segment-leading boot volume of 252 litres offers generous stowage.

Refined design with a new family face

Design is currently the number one reason why European customers choose to buy a Hyundai. Since the introduction of the second-generation i10 in late 2013 its athletic proportions have appealed to customers. The success story took shape at Hyundai’s European Technical Centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany, where the A-segment contender was designed and engineered.

This also holds true for the New Hyundai i10 with its front and rear design refinements making for an even more appealing look.

Exterior with Cascading grille

This is most obvious when looking at the new Cascading grille. The grille is a further development of the Hexagonal grille with a downward tapering shape created by adding a concave element. The Cascading grille will become the new family identity for Hyundai models in the future.

In the front, the New i10 features a new bumper design and new round LED daytime running lights on Premium and Premium SE models, positioned at the edges of the new Cascading grille to give the front an emotional look.

At the rear the New i10 is also characterised by an evolved bumper design, with a black inlay and round fog lights and redesigned rear lights with a darker housing for a sportier look. Redesigned side mouldings with a new shape and size round off the New Hyundai i10’s fresh profile.

The New i10 introduces new 14-inch alloy wheels on Premium models, with new 14-inch steel wheels and wheel covers on S and SE models. Customers who focus on driving dynamics can continue to choose 15-inch alloy wheels on Premium SE. SE Blue models feature 13 inch steel wheel with low rolling resistance tyres and aerodynamic wheel covers to enhance fuel efficiency

The sleek design of the i10 enables a drag coefficient (Cd) of just 0.31, one of the best in its class.

The New Hyundai i10 will be offered in a range of nine vibrant exterior colours available in solid, metallic and pearl finishes. The solid colour range comprises Morning Blue and Polar White, while the metallic range is made up of Aqua Sparkling, Iced Coffee, Sleek Sliver and Star Dust. Customers desiring pearl colours can choose between Mandarin Orange, Passion Red and Phantom Black.

Interior design with more colour options

The interior of the New i10 inherits the spacious and stylish appearance of the second-generation created through the coloured dashboard layout and the coloured elements surrounding the gear lever and the lower sections of the front doors. It now comes with a stylish new shade of red cloth giving customers a choice of three interior colour options, which also include both black and blue versions.

The middle console of the New i10 Premium SE is dominated by the new high resolution seven-inch touchscreen navigation system including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and LIVE services.

Tried and tested powertrains

Like its predecessor, the New i10 will come with the choice of two petrol engines, 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre, driving the front wheels through five-speed manual as standard or an optional four-speed automatic gearbox on SE, Premium and Premium SE.. The New Hyundai i10 SE Blue with BlueDrive technology, is based on the 1.0-litre petrol variant with a number of additional features to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Enhanced version with BlueDrive technology

The version of the New i10 SE Blue with BlueDrive technology now offers reduced CO2 emissions of 93g/km. This was achieved thanks to improved continuously variable valve timing (CVVT) and the addition of a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). The option’s fifth gear ratio (manual transmission) has also been optimised.

As in its predecessor, the New i10 SE Blue four-seat model with BlueDrive technology, incorporates Integrated Stop & Go and 13-inch wheels with low rolling resistance tyres.. As a result, the New i10 SE Blue achieves a combined fuel consumption of 70.6mpg (4.0 l/100 km).

Powertrains

The powertrains of the New Hyundai i10 have been tried and tested since their introduction in 2013 for the second-generation i10.

The 1.0-litre, three-cylinder Kappa powerplant has a maximum power output of 66 PS at 5,500 rpm and maximum torque of 95 Nm at 3,500 rpm from its 998 cc capacity. The New i10 with this engine and manual transmission can travel from standstill to 62mph in 14.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 97mph.

The four cylinder Kappa 1.2-litre engine, with a 1,248 cc capacity, offers drivers 87 PS at 6,000 rpm. Maximum torque of 120 Nm is available to the driver from 4,000 rpm. When mated to a manual transmission, the 1.2-litre can accelerate the New Hyundai i10 from standstill to 62mph in 12.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 109mph.

Both petrol engines are equipped with either a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, with the 1.2-litre offering an optional four-speed automatic transmission. A shift indicator displayed on the driver’s binnacle aids the driver in achieving the optimum driving efficiencies.

Reliable ride and handling enhanced

Compared to the second-generation i10, the front shock absorber bump stops of the New i10 have been increased in size from 55.5 mm to 64 mm, to enhance the ride and refinement characteristics even on bumpy roads. A modified steering gear ratio (now 53.5 mm/rev from 50.8 mm/rev) and a new magnesium steering wheel structure enhance steering feel.

The New i10 features disc brakes on front and rear as standard with 252 mm (241 mm on SE Blue models) diameter ventilated discs at the front and 234 mm diameter solid discs at the rear. To maximise braking power and stability, an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and electronic stability control (ESC) are all fitted as standard.

The strong, rigid bodyshell of the New i10 remains the same as in the second-generation Hyundai i10.

Fully integrated connectivity and advanced active safety

The New i10 further democratises advanced technology in making it available to more people than before. This especially holds true for connectivity and advanced safety features where the A-segment contender further introduces features from the segment above, including Hyundai Motor’s latest navigation and infotainment system with similar functionality to that deployed in the New Generation Hyundai i30 and the All-New IONIQ. The New i10 is the only car in its class to offer Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and LIVE Services, all integrated into the new seven-inch touchscreen which features as standard on Premium SE models.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow the driver to stay focused

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto guarantee seamless integration, safe operation and mirrored functionality of mobile devices based on iOS or the Android operating system.

With Android Auto all the functionalities provided by Google, such as Google Maps, are integrated in the New Hyundai i10 Premium SE’s head unit. It brings all the useful information available in the smartphone onto the navigation screen, organising it into simple icons like weather, missed calls, received messages, appointments. Users can also play their own music through third-party apps like Spotify or Deezer.

Similarly, CarPlay is a smarter, safer way to use iOS devices in the New i10 Premium SE. Users just have to connect their iPhone to get directions, make calls, send and receive messages and listen to music – all in a way that allows the driver to stay focused on the road.

Advanced active safety from segments above

Safety is a top priority for Hyundai Motor and the New i10 benefits from the latest technologies to make it one of the safest vehicles in its class. The A-segment car now comes with two new advanced safety features to actively avoid accidents, both based on the new multi-functional camera: a Front Collision Warning System (FCWS) and a Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS). FCWS and LDWS are both options from SE specification as part of the Driver Assist Pack.

Using front camera sensors, the FCWS alerts the driver acoustically and visually about collision risks arising from other vehicles. The Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver if unsafe movements are made while the car is driving at over 37mph. The LDWS sounds an alarm before the car moves over lane markings.

Introduced as standard in the second-generation Hyundai i10, electronic stability control (ESC) and vehicle stability management are also fitted in the New i10, as is a tyre pressure monitoring system which is standard across the range.

Seatbelt reminders for all occupants and automatic central locking are also standard.

The comprehensive passive safety equipment was carried on from the predecessor and includes six airbags – two front, two front side and two full-length curtain – as standard.

Great convenience package with segment-leading boot space

The New i10 scores with the almost legendary convenience package of its predecessor: automatic air conditioning on SE and SE Blue, with standard climate control from Premium and a heated steering wheel and heated front seats on Premium SE make it an ideal companion for up to five people, while the boot offers generous stowage.

The wheelbase of 2,385 mm allows for a bodyshell that gives way to one of the roomiest cabins in its class still. Front seat occupants can enjoy 1,070 mm of legroom, as well as 1,306 mm of shoulder room and a class-leading 1,008 mm of headroom.

The generous boot capacity with 252 litres is easily accessed by the wide-opening tailgate. The rear seats fold 60:40, yielding a useful 1,046 litres of storage space, accessed by one of the widest boot openings (920 mm) in the A-segment.

Still unique for an A-segment car, as in the second-generation i10 all four doors can each hold a large-capacity bottle (1.0-litre size in the front doors; 0.6-litre in the rear doors); cup holders positioned rearward of the gear lever further boost the New Hyundai i10’s functionality.
