Gurkha Xplorer, the SUV that could sell well in Malaysia and ASEAN
This is not a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen or a copy of the G-Wagen even though it looks rather similar from some angles. This is the Gurkha SUV manufactured by Indian car manufacturer, Force Motors. It is a serious off-roader and it makes its intentions clear with its factory-fitted snorkel. There is no other SUV or pickup truck manufacturer that provides a snorkel right from the factory.
Yes, it has G-Wagen-inspired lines and flared wheel arches and a wide stance. This is where the similarity ends. The Gurkha is built on a ladder-frame chassis with independent front suspension.
The interior is basic and functional and that is all we can say for now., but this is the same message the early Defenders and the 1st G-Wagon sent to its buyers who ended up loving them to bits. For now, there is no importer in Malaysia and we think this SUV could find itself a following here in Malaysia. Look them online and contact them to make a business case.
