Honda Malaysia Launches Limited Edition Mugen Body Kit for HR-V
Honda Malaysia today introduced the Mugen limited edition body kit for its leading compact SUV, the HR-V. The HR-V (Hip & Smart Runabout Vehicle) has now become sportier with the
introduction of a Mugen limited edition upgrade. It is the third Honda model to offer the Mugen package after the Civic Concept Mugen 2.0 limited edition which was introduced in 2006 and the Concept M models of the Civic and Jazz introduced in 2010.
The HR-V Mugen comes with a new body kit consisting a total of 9 items including a front under spoiler, rear under spoiler, side under spoiler, tailgate spoiler, sporty decal, Mugen gear lever emblem, Mugen exterior emblem, front grille and carpet mat.
The exclusive HR-V Mugen is limited to only 1,020 units and is made available for the V variant. The price for the HR-V Mugen limited edition is RM 118,800 (without insurance).
This exclusive Mugen Limited Edition is the result of customers’ feedback requesting for sportier and stylish appearance to complement the practicality of the HR-V. Since the launch of the HR-V in February 2015, the model has received an overwhelming response and total registrations received is more than 65,000 units as at January 2018. In 2017, the HR-V emerged as the second best-selling model, contributing 17% of overall sales and remained in the lead position in the compact SUV segment. Known as the “Beauty with Brains”, the HR-V is loved by Malaysians for its spaciousness, user-friendliness, practicality and functionality in its features offering total comfort for passengers while bringing the joy of driving to the driver.
The HR-V was developed with maximum space utilization in mind. The large legroom for both driver and passengers in the car provides maximum comfort and reduces strain especially during long drives. The amazing Multi-Utility Cargo Space offers larger trunk space which can be adjusted through versatile rear seat configuration modes known as the Utility Mode, Tall Mode and Long Mode. The Utility Mode allows the rear seats to be lowered to increase the space in the boot. The Tall Mode allows space to be freed from floor to ceiling with the rear seats folded for tall items to be fitted in and the Long Mode will enable long items to be carried in the car with front and rear seats reclined. These modes allow the HR-V users to obtain their desired space for their travel usage, providing convenience and practicality for everyone in the family.
The spacious headroom of the HR-V eases the movement of passengers and driver in and out of the car without any hassle. The width and the angle of the front pillars were carefully designed for the HR-V to enable wide viewing angle. Supported by the height of the HR-V, drivers will have a better view of the road and their surroundings with levelled up security, especially for ladies.
The aerodynamically-designed HR-V features a 1.8L i-VTEC SOHC engine combined with Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) to offer a smooth driving experience and fuel efficient performance. The HR-V is also one of Honda Malaysia model to be certified an Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV).
Like other Honda models, providing top notch safety features has never been compromised in the HR-V. The HR-V comes with a high level of active and passive occupant protection which features 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating, six airbags, Electric Parking Brake (EPB) and Auto Brake Hold (ABH), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and Hill Start Assist (HSA).
