UMW Toyota Upgrades the Hilux and Sienta

Starting today, there’ll be new variants of the Hilus and Sienta available for order.

Customers have been asking for a more premium and tougher looking version of Malaysia’s bestselling pick-up. In response, UMW Toyota has come up with the Hilux L-Edition for both the 2.4 -litre 4X4 and 2.8-litre 4X4 Automatic Transmission models.

The L-Edition brings a wider and more aggressive bodykit featuring a large hexagonal, chrome grille and a different bumper design. A new rear step ornament is integrated with silver trim, adding a premium touch to the vehicle.

Also new are the 5-spoke 18-inch two-tone rims.

The interior of the L-Edition features a combination of piano black trim and perforated leather seats. The 2.8-litre variant comes with a specially-designed Optitron instrument cluster and Downhill Assist Control for easier slope descent.

Regardless of engine type, you get 7 airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, Active Traction Control and Hill-Start Assist Control with the L-Edition.

Since its introduction in August last year, the Toyota Sienta has provided urban families with a premium value compact MPV and with a distinctive design rather than a plain ‘people-carrier’.

Taking into account customers’ feedback and requests, the 2018 model will only be available as 1.5V variant and now comes with additional accessories and features at no price change.

The Compact MPV is now equipped with an upgraded 6.9-inch DVD-AVX system that comes with Bluetooth connectivity, HDMI, SD Card Input as well as a Reverse Camera. Customers can upgrade to the optional 7-inch touchscreen DVD-AVN system that comes with the GPS-based navigation system which includes the locations of Toyota sales and aftersales outlets in Malaysia.

New for the Sienta is the optional Panoramic View Monitor that will definitely provide assistance to park the vehicle. Cameras around the vehicle capture the side and front views, enabling the driver to spot any obstacles or hazards which may not be visible from inside or in the rear view mirrors.

USB charging ports are of course a necessity these days with portable devices being widely used. The Sienta is now equipped with a USB charging port in the second row to give convenience to its passengers. With the inclusion of trunk mat in the rear cargo area, there is a better protection for the floor. It was designed to fit perfectly and can be easily taken out for cleaning whenever needed.

For peace of mind, all Toyota models come with a 5-year warranty and unlimited mileage (except for Toyota Hilux with maximum mileage of 150,000kms). To enhance the value of the vehicle, the warranty is transferable to the next owner within the terms and conditions.
