Say Goodbye to the Volkswagen Jetta

The 6th generation Volkswagen Jetta first came to Malaysia in late 2011 in its CBU from Mexico form. It wasn’t too long before they started locally producing it in Pekan alongside the Polo, Polo Sedan and Passat.

Then in 2016, we got the facelifted version, which traded the twincharged 1.4 TSI engine for a turbocharged 1.4 TSI producing 10PS less power but 10Nm more torque.

It has been almost 2 years since that launch, and we have been told that the car will no longer be produced here. Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia mentioned that it was currently clearing the last batch of Pekan-made Jettas.
