Porsche wants a ‘Diesel-Free’ Portfolio in the Future

A couple of years have passed since the events of dieselgate first began to unfold, and already we’re seeing many manufacturers rethink diesel in future vehicles. The latest manufacturer to give it up is Porsche, who themselves were involved in VW Group’s conspiracy to deceive emission regulators.

A statement from company CEO Oliver Blume reads:

“Porsche is not demonizing diesel. It is, and will remain, an important propulsion technology. We as a sports car manufacturer, however, for whom diesel has always played a secondary role, have come to the conclusion that we would like our future to be diesel-free. Naturally, we will continue to look after our existing diesel customers with the professionalism they expect.”
