Aprilia Shiver 900 Now in Malaysia for RM72,000
Didi Resources, sole distributor of Aprilia in Malaysia, have brought in the the Shiver 900. This is the company’s most recent evolution of the sport naked and it comes with class leading performance and equipment.
This Shiver is powered by a Euro 4-compliant 900cc V-twin engine which puts out 90Nm of torque at 6500rpm and 70kW of power at 8750rpm. It can be configured to limit its output to 35kW for those holding A2 driver’s license. This makes the Shiver 900 an easy bike to ride even for relatively inexperienced bikers.
The engine was subject to some improvements including reduced friction and lighter components. A new and more efficienct semi-dry carter internal lubrication circuit helps to reduce power losses from vibration. The bike also gets fitted with a Marelli 7SM ECU which makes the electrical system much simpler.
All of the clutch components have been redesigned. This decreases the load on the clutch lever by 15%, whereas the primary drive reduction ratio has been optimised.
The Shiver 900 adopts a new Kayaba fork with hydraulics adjustable in extension and spring preload, almost half a kilo lighter than the one mounted on the first version.
