Daihatsu Worked With Toyota GAZOO Racing for this Copen GR Sport Concept

Daihatsu Motor has given the COPEN GR SPORT CONCEPT mini convertible sports concept vehicle its world premiere at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2019.

The COPEN GR SPORT CONCEPT is a new concept car that Daihatsu is developing in collaboration with TOYOTA GAZOO Racing. In order to respond to customer requests for improved driving performance, Daihatsu is leveraging TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s expertise via personnel exchanges and other means; the company aims to develop a car that feels good to drive and whose handling responds accurately to driver input, and is particularly focused on increasing body rigidity and tuning the suspension.

The front of the COPEN GR SPORT CONCEPT features the same Functional MATRIX front grille used by some of the vehicles in Toyota’s GR line-up; at the same time, the cabin sports special Recaro seats and instrument panels to realize a high-quality interior space.
